Domestic Violence comes in all shapes and sizes from physical and sexual abuse, to financial and coercive control, most forms include emotional abuse, which can damage our self worth. Being free from the abusive behaviours is liberating and will allow you to make positive choices for you.  However large the impact caused can run deep. I am here to guide you through whichever stage you find yourself at.

Victim Support

I have experience working closely with family and friends of victims of homicide and suicide. A sudden, violent loss can leave us with so many unanswered questions, it is difficult to accept the death and grieve properly.  Only once you can accept the tragedy and grieve can you move on. 

PTSD often follows the experience of traumatic loss and can prevent us living full lives. Our brains often struggle to assimilate traumatic life events, causing insomnia, flash backs, survivors guilt and an inability to find any joy in life.

PTSD is also trigger by being witness to homicide or suicide and the same emotional trauma impacts you, even when you don’t have an association with the victim.

Anxiety

Having anxious thoughts is exhausting.  Understanding where your anxiety comes from or what triggers your anxiety is the beginning of working with anxious thoughts.  Centering yourself in the here and now and learning coping strategies will help you navigate your days and nights in a more restful and proactive way. 

I use mindfulness, grounding and gentle exploration to guide you.
