Ways of Working

Psychotherapy

I am able to offer in person or online therapy, either in my therapy space (address: 116A Boldmere Rd, Boldmere, Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield B73 5UB), or online via zoom.

An assessment is two way, and gives us both a chance to see if we feel comfortable enough to work together. I advocate all prospective clients, to search the therapy market and meet at least 2 or 3 therapists, before deciding who to work with. I recognise the importance of this decision.

Therapy works well when a trusting relationship can be built, so please feel free to assess me and ask as many questions as you wish during your free assessment.

Once work begins, we will sign a contract to work together for 6 – 10 weeks, and re-assess how we are doing at the 10 week point. Some clients find 10 sessions enough, others need longer term, open-ended work, which we will then contract around., should you wish to continue.

Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision either in person (at 116A Boldmere Rd, Boldmere, Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield B73 5UB) or online via Zoom, depending on what works best for you.

Supervision, like therapy, relies on the quality of the relationship. It’s important that you feel safe, respected, and able to bring all parts of your work and yourself into the room. I encourage you to meet with more than one supervisor before deciding who feels like the right fit — this is your space, and you deserve to feel supported and understood.

Our initial session will be a mutual assessment. It’s a chance for you to get a feel for how I work, and for us both to see whether we can build a working relationship based on trust, openness, and professional curiosity.

If we decide to go ahead, we’ll contract to work together in a way that supports your current needs — whether you’re in training, newly qualified, or more experienced. Some supervisees benefit from regular space to process client work, while others may wish to focus more on professional development, ethical reflection, or staying resourced when the work gets tough. There’s room for all of this.

I see supervision as a collaborative process — two minds thinking together in service of the client. It’s a space where we can be curious, reflective, and sometimes unsure, allowing space for insight to emerge. I won’t pretend to have all the answers, but I will walk alongside you as we make sense of the work together.

We’ll also build in regular reviews to reflect on how the space is supporting you, to notice and tend to your learning edges, and to keep our work aligned with your growth and development as a practitioner.

I aim to offer a steady base where you can reflect, explore and grow — always with the goal of supporting the work you do with your clients, and the therapist you are becoming.
